Everything you ever wnated to know about breeding.

No, I'm not talking about standard movesets. I mean, standard proceedures to making a team.

Now, a beginner's team might have all different type monsters with all damaging attacks and little to no strategy whatsoever; just basically beatdown. This might work for a while, but sooner or later, you'll need some real strategy. That's what this guide is for.

FIrst off, some general rules:

-Plan out your team first, don't just jump at it and expect to execute it perfectly right away
-Try to have at least two immunities on your team. While it isn't necessary, it is helpful.
-Never put 2 moves on a monster that are the same type as the monster unless they do two different things. Meaning, no Surf and Hydro Pump on Vaporeon. Thunder and Thunderwave are acceptable tho, because T-Wave paralyzes and Thunder damages. THey have two different purposes, and therefore, it is ok that they are the same type.
-NEVER have 2 monsters doing the same thing, or, the same job. Each monster on your team should serve a different purpose. Here are a list of job positions for team members:

Spiker
m00ber (self-destruct or explosion user)
Special Wall
Physical Wall
Special Sweeper
Physical Sweeper
Hazer
Pseudo Hazer
Support
Cleric
Baton Passer
Staller
Annoyer
Status

There are other jobs, I just ran those off the top of my head.

So, when making a team, try to find Pokemon that fill in a different job. A monster can have 2 jobs, so don't worry.

Another thing to keep in mind, is to TRY to not have two different jobs held by monsters of the same type. Generally, you don't want a Grass special sweeper and a Grass supporter. While it could work out, it is best to try to have different types for different jobs.


Here is a basic team, no EVs or anything, just movesets and monsters:

-Heal Bell

Ok, heres the rundown of the team:

Cloyster is the Spiker and m00ber. Spike up and use Ice Beam to damage. If you are lucky enough, they may send out their Rapid Spinner, you Clamp, they Rapid Spin, you m00b, gfg.

Miltank is the Cleric, meaning she uses Heal Bell to get rid of status. She is also a slight Physical Wall.

Umbreon is a Baton Passer, Status inflicter, Annoyer, and Healer. Mean Look so they cant switch, Toxic so they die somehow, Wish to heal, and Baton Pass to pass the Wish and the Mean Look. It is also a good wall.

Alakazam is the Special Sweeper. Calm Mind up and sweep with Psychic and Ice Punch. Not much else to talk about.

Dodrio is the Hazer and Physical Sweeper. Haze to get rid of stat boosters, Endure to stay alive, Drill Peck to damage, and Flail to do massive damage with the help of Endure.

Jolteon is the annoyer. Sub+Attract+Thunderwave=Major Annoyance. With high speed, its hard to give it a status with its Sub, and Paratraction is difficult to get around.
